Botta and the surrounding desert are inhabited by various types of creatures. Here you can find a guide to them. Keep in mind, since Sunadokei can reach out to different worlds, any race is possible to find. But if that's the case, there would only be a couple of each person. If you're looking to introduce your own race, then you need to have it checked with one of the team first.HumansThe humans are easily the most abundant race in this story. Strong willed and determined, they refuse to let the demons take the advantage and spend their time studying ancient runes and weaponry. Skills with metal and non-magical weapons are enhanced compared to any other race. While they are unable to do elemental magic, they can give their weapons custom effects through runes etched on the metal.
DemonsBorn through age old legends of spirits born into human bodies, the demons are neither hated nor loved. While they look the same as humans, most take on the behavior of the animal they represent. Demons are the only race that can master elemental magic, and as such have been the only ones to rise to Sage status in Sunadokei. Their skill with weapons is usually only exceptional when they manipulate steel with magic.
HybridsHalf-demons are rare but do exist. Most aren't treated as anything other than just more wanderers in the city, so they're neither hated nor loved. They have the ability to manipulate the elements in the ways of their demon parents, though not to the same extent. They also can control runes on weaponry though only the more simple effects.
SpiritsWhile the spirits are not actually seen in this world, their influence still reaches through demon magic. To cast a spell, a demon must summon a spirit from their own world and then have the strength to use their power. Spirits take the form of their respective animals, generally made out of their element. The only exception are the spirits of the shadow element, which have been drawn into the fight between the Fallen and the Order and now walk the streets.
They have been classified into ranks.
4th RankThese spirits are slow, clumsy, and generally cute. They're most often used for fodder. Few efforts have been made to contain them for a child could beat one by stepping on it accidentally. Their shapes tend to be unformed and blob-like of whatever element they are. Generally demons summon these for odd jobs like getting coffee, or picking up the mail.
3rd RankAt this rank the spirits take on the form of their respective animal. They're generally annoying, but can be taken care of relatively easily by anyone with combat training. Most of the new soldiers of Sunadokei are set against these and to summon them is the first task of a Fallen initiate.
2nd RankNow the spirits begin to grow more annoying. These beasts become capable of real thought and can only be taken care of someone of about officer rank in Sunadokei. Usually formed into their respective animal, they gain the ability to cast spells. Most of them are standard, elemental spells. They can be rather tricky to control in summons.
1st RankThese beasts are often of larger than standard size for their animal. Most are fully capable of forming plans and launching invasions of their own accord if not forced into obedience by a higher ranking Fallen. They have a love of bloodshed so controlling or fighting them is usually left for the captain-leveled ranks.
