PostSubject: The long journey home (part 2)   Sun Aug 24, 2008 3:21 pm

Waving his hand quickly, Corrigan made goodbye to the old man and his bickering and made his way up the stairs towards the train. Somehow he'd wished he'd gotten there sooner so he'd have a better ride. Not that it matter thou, cause he would be home soon and that was what mattered in the end.

Pressing on through the crowd. The monotome group of people moved towards the train almost like they were driven to. A large body with only a single thing on there mind. Corrigan cracked a smile. Although he wasn't like them at this point his thoughts were the same.

Finally he reached the steel beast itself, it would be a fight to get on as people were too busy pushing eachother. It wasn't like the train was leaving in a minute or so. Awaiting his turn, Corrigan finally boarded the train and found himself a place standing next to the window. This was a good spot to see the final strech of his journey.

Now it was only time of waiting till the train departed.

"Alright people, shut up and settle down."

A short and stocky demon waded through the sea of people, forcing them to clear a walkway as he whacked people on the leg rather sharply with the stick he carried. Once people in the car had quieted enough for his liking, he cleared his throat and began muttering out the directions he had obviously said far too often while a sign above translated it into the different languages.

"I guess most of you guys are familiar with this, but for those who ain't, listen up. First stop is the harbor town, easy enough. Second stop is the outer edge of the island, so if you're lookin' to join, that's where you'll want to get off to meet with your test officials and all that crap. Third stop, for you tourists, lands at the Hall. And as always, comin' back only brings you back to Botta, so if you miss your first try, it's your fault for being too stupid to pay any attention."

As he spoke, the doors creaked shut and the train shuddered into a slow motion forward. The windows were thrown into darkness and the only light came from the illuminated signs above the passenger's head.

"And yeah, the possibility of this train getting attacked isn't low, what with all the people we've got. So if it does happen, don't freak out or the escorts'll have to deal with you as well as the thing."

When he finished, the blinding sun reappeared in the windows as the train emerged out of the tunnel and officially out of Botta. The feel of the train's slow approach was apparently just an illusion, for the machine had jumped forward and was rocketing across the sands. Outside, once the glare of the sun wore off, it was just a flat expanse of sand until broken by the gray blue of the sea. While Botta was fast disappearing, Menia was quickly growing larger ahead of them.

((ooc: Oh, and you don't have to worry about moving the thread anywhere except to the island edge when you get off the train. XD; Then I'll post one for you with the guides and whatnot.))

Listening to the short demon's words. Corrigan wondered if he should get off at the 2nd or the 3rd stop. Although he was looking to see his parents again. He should probably take the 2nd stop and see them.

As he thought about it the train glided forward looking out the window he saw the water to the side of the tracks. It was good to see the sea around the island again. The glare of the surface reflected the sun in the sky. It was this view that he liked the most. The desert had never been his turf however travelling across it had been his only option to return here quickly.

His view crossed the other occupants of the train. Several young one's where onboard, they were probably enroute for the same location he was. Due to his heritage he had little doubt that he would not be accepted by the Order. With almost his entire family in he had a good chance to join. He knew his own abilities well. Although he wasn'skilled as his brothers yet, he was sure that could get to there level and beyond.

The train was about to pull into the harbor town. While the city had changed much, the harbor town had remained mostly the same. It was the territory of the Order, so somehow it couldn't have been different.

Corrigan opened the robe and took it off. This was no place to walk around in robes in. Beneath it revealed his usual outfit consisting of his bodysuit and jacket. Out of the bag he was wearing he pulled a cord and tied the robe onto his bag. This way it wouldn't slow him down in anyway.

Standing in the train, Corrigan looked down at his feet. He was still wearing the bandages around them and they had gotten dirty, a bit from the sand of the desert and a lot from the dirty city streets. Removing the bandages it gave his feet a more relaxed feel. Corrigan didn't need any footwear. It would only slow him down. The bandages made there way into the bag. It immediately felt more like himself. Stretching his arms he noticed that the train had started moving again.

He had decided to get off at the next stop anyway. No matter how much he wanted to see his family again, the urge of starting his adventure was far greater. He stretched his leg muscles as well as he didn't knew what would be coming at the next stop.

With a wide yawn, the demoness had simple taken her seat and waited. There wasn't much else to do. These sorts of situations were the ones that bothered her most. First, she hated crowds. Second, they all smelled the same, and third, someone had no shoes on. Not only did that irk her, it just plain disgusted her. It wasn't feet that made her sick, no, it was the audacity to have them bare in a crowded place.

She wrinkled her nose in disgust and sat back, crossing her legs and folding her arms as the train pushed forward, her cold eyes focused on her own foot as it bobbed up and down impatiently. In an attempt to take her mind off of things, she looked out over the sea with a deep sigh. Propping her elbow against the window, she rested her cheek into her palm. The demon relaxed a bit, tracing lines with her finger against the glass as the train took a wide curve and drew steadily closer to the ocean.

Watching through the window, Corrigan saw that the train was slowly pulling into the station where it was making it second stop.

The young demon lifted himself up and steadied himself waiting for the train to make a complete stop. The salty sea air had snuck into the train through the ventilation. With a bang the large train came to a halt, not many were making themselves ready to exit the train.

Moving his way through the people in the hallway of the train, Corrigan stepped through the door that had just been opened by the train's conductor. With a jump his feet landed on the crude platform that had arisen on the edge of the island.

Cracking his knuckles he walked further onto the platform, hoping someone was there that actually knew what the idea was with getting off at this stop.

Scooting forward in her seat a bit, the woman's forehead touched the glass of the window lightly. Looking over the few that stood to get off the train, she saw the bare feet and snarled to herself. With a soft sigh, she pushed herself onto her feet, letting her arms swing casually at her sides. The demoness slipped through the doors just as they closed, just barely missing a few strands of hair. Walking slowly to the center of the platform, her heavy eyes rested on a young child. The air surrounding him forced her nose to wrinkle in disgust as she turned away only to be face with the man with no shoes. Holding her breath, the woman turned away.
